USGA Arnold Palmer Center for Golf History

Museum Services recently celebrated the grand opening of the United States Golf Associations Arnold Palmer Center for Golf History in Far Hills, New Jersey. 1220 partnered with the USGA and Gallagher & Associates (the designer) to complete the 6,950sf project.
On opening day, Jim Vernon, president of the executive committee for the USGA called it “the world’s premiere institution for the study and education of golf history.” In placing Palmer’s name on the museum after a $20 million renovation and expansion, the USGA recognizes Palmer’s significance in golf as well as his contributions to the game.

Eric King, who served as project manager said, “It was a marquee project that grew in scope from initially $1.6 million and ended up at $2.1 million. Terry Pritchett and crew did an outstanding job during fabrication and installation. The relationship with the client and owner’s representation on this project has led to many referrals and additional opportunities. Seeing Mr. Palmer’s face as he walked through and marveled at the project, particularly the video about his rivalry with Jack Nicklaus, was priceless.”

Craig Dunn, Senior VP of Museum Services, would like to thank all 1220 staff who contributed to the museum’s success.
