Battle of Richmond Visitor Center Opens October 4th
The Battle of Richmond Visitor Center, fabricated and installed by 1220, will hold its grand opening on October 4th in Richmond, KY. The visitor center is located in a federal style home that has been restored as closely as possible to its condition in 1892, when this Civil War battle occurred. This historic site includes exhibits, an orientation film, and interactive maps that provide an overview of the battle.
The Battle Overview Room features an interactive laser map that combines audio, video and laser animation to bring the progression of the battle stages to life. Construction details on the freestanding graphic and wall panels help convey the Civil War theme. Stories of the Battle are portrayed in a separate room, which includes displays about home life, transportation, Civil War medicine and personal accounts from the war illustrated through graphic panels on canvas and rustic display cases.
