For Immediate Release WordSpring Discovery Center at Wycliffe Bible Translators Opens in Orlando 1220 recently finished the fabrication and installation of exhibits for the WordSpring Discovery Center at Wycliffe Bible Translators in Orlando, Florida. Approximately 50,000 visitors and trainees visit their facility each year. This 3,500 square foot exhibit includes multimedia presentations, interactive computer games and simulations and provides activities for all ages. It is a living cultural adventure providing a dynamic look at Bible translating. The exhibit allows visitors to see how the bible was preserved and shared, sometimes at great danger, throughout history and the world. Wycliffe’s Project Director Rob Burgess from CNL said, ”Your team’s work product was exceptional. The exhibit space was the ‘talk’ at Grand Opening.” Visitors are greeted by a 4’ x 4’ glass bible with video projections of different bible stories on its surface. Historical and biblical cast figures lead visitors into the exhibit. The exhibit is graphic-intensive and incorporates a variety of materials including stone, wood, metal, fabric and plastic. The 45-seat theatre features a world map on the ceiling. Interactive quiz panels teach facts about the people and cultures involved in bible translation around the world, and the leaves of a giant maple “language tree” represent each different language they have translated. Michael Currier, General Manager of the WordSpring Discovery Center said, “Thanks again [1220] for a quality job done with care and commitment.” 1220 specializes in the creative development and production of experiential museum environments. The firm has offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, Nashville and Orlando.
